What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal is a safe and effective way to permanently reduce unwanted hair, leaving your skin smoother and softer. The treatment works by directing light energy into the hair follicle, which is absorbed by the pigment in the hair. This process damages the follicle, slowing and preventing future hair growth.
THE PROCESS
What the Treatment Involves:
During your session, a handheld laser device is gently passed over the treatment area. The light energy targets the roots of active hairs, while the skin’s surface is left unharmed. Most people describe the feeling as a mild warmth or quick snap on the skin. Sessions can take as little as 10 minutes for smaller areas, or up to an hour for larger zones like legs or back.
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)
Uses broad-spectrum light to target the hair pigment. Best suited for lighter skin tones with dark hair.
Diode Laser
Offers a focused wavelength that penetrates deeper into the follicle. Effective on a wide range of skin tones, particularly fair to medium skin, and works well on coarse hair.
SHR (Super Hair Removal)
Sessions & Frequency
On average, 6–8 sessions are recommended, spaced about 4–6 weeks apart, depending on the area and individual hair growth patterns.
Downtime & Aftercare
Little to no downtime. You may notice mild redness or slight sensitivity immediately after treatment, similar to a light sunburn, but this usually subsides within a few hours. Avoid hot showers, exercise, and sun exposure for the first 24–48 hours. Using SPF on treated areas is essential.
